Free Budgeting for Youth Program

Facilitated by financially qualified professionals

Targeted budgeting and money management education and skills training for young people and young families.

Community Compass delivers high impact workshops and seminars on the development of budgeting skills, covering practical examples and terms young people can relate to. The program is delivered in-school directly to students, or in community centres. Participants will learn how to better prepare and manage their money now and in the future.

This No Cost program is available to eligible participants.

Who should be attending?

Many young people become vulnerable to financial distress as they navigate into financial independence in early adulthood. This program is aimed at these young people who could benefit from broadening their money management knowledge.

  • School leavers
  • Young people needing to broaden their money management awareness
  • Young people in or transitioning into independent living arrangements
  • Students with known vulnerabilities
  • Young parents

Where does the program funding come from?

This program is 100% funded under Targeted Early Intervention - Wellbeing and Safety by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice.

The departments regional team fund this program in response to data supporting a high level of poor money management financial literacy skills in young people living in the region. The ‘Budgeting for Youth’ program is a pro-active program aimed at increasing financial literacy skills.
